Velocene Adventures was set up by Richard Lebon and James Hooper, who have ridden and led cycletours since their school days, and have a great passion for sharing the joy and skill of cycling with riders of all ages and abilities.

James was National Geographic Adventurer of the Year in 2008 for his record-breaking 396-day expedition from Pole to Pole, including cycling 11,000 miles from New York to Chile. He has lived and worked for several years in South Korea, where he is well known as an adventurer, cyclist and TV personality.

Richard has a background in international logistics and engineering, and as a co-founder with James of the One Mile Closer charitable initiative, has spent much of the last decade organising and leading large groups of cyclists over many thousands of kilometres in the UK, Europe and Asia.

Having ridden most things with pedals and wheels, we know that there is no one way to ride a bike or enjoy cycling – we just love it, and equally enjoy meeting our riders and learning more – we look forward to sharing our time on the road with you!
